Dedicated to Duncan "Rea" Williams

November 25, 1944 - October 8, 2016

Father, Friend and Founding Partner

Lanier Partners of North Georgia, would not exist had it not been for the tireless efforts of one of our founding members, Rea Williams.

It was through his efforts that Lanier Partners of North Georgia came into being. He was a member of the original group, Silent Partners, and with the help of six other friends, went on to create Lanier Partners. Over the years, Rea was instrumental in organizing and growing our premier event, The Pirates of Lanier Charity Poker Run. We are forever grateful to Rea for his dedication and devotion to helping the children in our community.

Thank you, Rea.

Richard Pickering

Richard runs Lake Lanier Recovery Divers and has been diving for over 40 years. In addition to finding countless phones, anchors, prescription glasses, jewelry and more from the bottom of the lake, he has recovered 25 wedding rings/class rings to date here at Lake Lanier - which must be some kind of record! He is also the emcee for the Poker Run sponsored by Lanier Partners. Richard was recently elected to the Board of Lanier Partners.

Additionally, he has been a Program Coordinator for the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes over the past 20 years. This non-profit provides homes for abandoned and neglected children and places them in a safe and loving environment. The Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes was established to give our state’s most at-risk children the love, safety, and stability needed to become mature, successful adults. In this role, he plans and runs golf tournaments, poker runs, concerts and other events to raise money for these children in need.

We have no employees, everything we do is provided by our Board Members or volunteers. No compensation of any kind is provided or given to any of our Board members or volunteers for their time, efforts or services, and we do thank each and every one of them for what they have done to help us help the children!
